Police in Antrim are appealing for information after a man was hit by a car in the early hours of this morning.

A 47-year-old man has died after being knocked down near Thurles.

Gardaí arrested a man on the runway at Cork Airport yesterday and charged him with dangerous driving causing the death in July 2012 of a cyclist preparing for the Ring of Kerry charity cycle.

A 90-year-old widow died on Tuesday night after being knocked down by a car as she made her way to a weekly bingo session.
