When Liam Doran was a young nurse staying in the nurses’ home at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, Co Louth, the nuns hung a sign on his door saying “Man in the House”.

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (IMNO) will take industrial action at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) has said there is a shortage of nurses here, despite figures which show that Ireland has more nurses for our population size than other Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries.
