Liverpool chief executive Ian Ayre is to leave his position at the end of next season.

Liverpool chief executive Ian Ayre has defended the club’s owners Fenway Sports Group ahead of a proposed ticket price protest by suggesting fans should “be careful what they wish for”.

“We didn’t even get the decency of a reply, we didn’t even get a ‘No’. If I am really honest I am surprised.”
