Convicted killer Frederick 'Freddie' Thompson's High Court challenge over the conditions of his detention at the maximum Security Portlaoise Prison, was adjourned at the last minute following an application by his lawyers.

Convicted killer Frederick 'Freddie' Thompson has brought a High Court challenge over what he claims is the " extremely oppressive" and the "severe" regime he is being subjected to at Portlaoise Prison.

Lawyers for Frederick ‘Freddie’ Thompson, who is accused of the murder of David Douglas, have asked the Special Criminal Court to direct a not guilty verdict, on the basis that the evidence against him is not strong enough.
