The launch of Fairtrade Fortnight saw the announcement of strong growth in Fairtrade spending by Irish consumers.

Irish consumers spent over €270m on Fairtrade products last year, an increase of 9% on 2015.

Budget supermarket chain Aldi is launching its first range of T-shirts made from Fairtrade certified cotton.

Mars Bars sold in Ireland and the UK are to be made with Fairtrade certified cocoa, it has been announced.
