Elber Twomey’s pain was etched on her face as she recalled the car crash that wiped out her family five years ago.

The public are being asked to think of the 38,787 people who have died on Irish roads since records began.

Over 38,000 people killed on roads on the island of Ireland will be remembered this Sunday, in a planned World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims.
