CROWD favourite Andy Fordham finally ended a 10-year wait for the top prize in darts last night when he defeated Mervyn King in the final of the Lakeside World Championship at Frimley Green.

Darts ace Mark Dudbridge reflected on his stunning victory over world champion John Part and insisted: “I am not going to get carried away.”
