After his splendid opening round of 64 on Thursday, Peter Lawrie had to be content with an even par 72 in yesterday’s second round of the Sicily Open at the Verdura Golf and Spa Resort.

There was a seven-way tie for the lead at the half-way stage of the second round of the European Tour's Sicily this afternoon.

A brilliant round of 64, eight under par, sent Dubliner Peter Lawrie shooting to the top of the leaderboard after yesterday’s opening round of the Sicily Open at the stunningly beautiful Verdura course.
