A senior US diplomat said America was pushing China, India and Japan to use their influence to increase pressure on Burma’s military leaders after the brutal crackdown on pro-democracy protesters.

Nepal’s government today suspended the national police and intelligence chiefs while they are being investigated for alleged human rights abuses against protesters during last month’s pro-democracy movement, an official said.
