SO Ireland has a new head of state.

The Government is being urged not to allow the repayment of a $1bn (€715m) Anglo Irish Bank bond.

The Occupy Wall Street movement faced down city chiefs to hang on to its makeshift headquarters, showed its muscle with a big Times Square demonstration and found legions of activists demonstrating in solidarity across the world.

A group of people protesting outside the Central Bank in Dublin for the past few days remain there this afternoon.
