Ireland’s valuable bloodstock sales almost halved last year as the crippling effects of the recession hit the country’s renowned horse racing sector.

Kevkat showed a really pleasing attitude to win the the Guinness Handicap over a mile and a half at the Galway Festival.

Kevkat, trained by Eoin Griffin and ridden by Declan McDonogh, emerged victorious in the €45,570 Guinness Handicap over a mile and a half at the Galway Festival today.
