The 2015 Web Summit kicked off today in Dublin’s RDS arena with over 40,000 people descending on the capital for the event.

Dublin City Council has defended its role in attempting to keep the Web Summit in the capital, saying it continues to offer every possible support to organisers for this year’s event.

The matriarch of Irish food, Myrtle Allen, was last night inducted into the inaugural Good Food Ireland Hall of Fame along with Redmond O’Donoghue and Web Summit Founder Paddy Cosgrave at an event in Herbert Park.
