GMIT booked a spot in the final of the Connacht Hurling League following a close 1-13 to 1-11 win over Mayo in Ballyheane this afternoon.

Galway manager Ger Loughnane has shown his hand for Sunday's NHL Division 1B encounter against Antrim at Pearse Stadium (throw-in 2.30pm).

Ger Loughnane was robbed of his first real chance to run the rule over Galway's hurling talent as a waterlogged pitch saw today's Connacht Hurling League tie between the Galway Development squad and Roscommon called off.

Saturday's Connacht Hurling League encounter between the Galway Development squad and Roscommon will afford a chance for a number of the Tribesmen to impress new county boss Ger Loughnane.
