French pair Gwladys Nocera and Sophie Giquel shared the lead on three-under-par 69 after the first round of the Catalonia Ladies’ Masters but Hampshire’s Kirsty Taylor was poised for a weekend attack.

Lancashire’s Kirsty Taylor shot the lowest score in the history of the Ladies’ European Tour today with an 11-under-par 61 in the first round of the Wales Ladies’ Championship of Europe at Machynys Peninsula near Llanelli.
