A former member of the Provisional IRA has told the Saville Inquiry how he confronted an Official IRA gunman who opened fire on British soldiers after they had shot Catholic civilians on Bloody Sunday almost 32 years ago.

The Saville Inquiry has warned Sinn Féin’s Martin McGuinness that he could face contempt of court charges for refusing to name people who were members of the Provisional IRA on Bloody Sunday.
