RORY McILROY’S hopes of a second Major championship victory in three starts hung in the balance last night after the US Open winner injured his wrist during his opening round at the 93rd PGA Championship.

Irishman Jonathan Caldwell’s bid to join his close friend Rory McIlroy on the European Tour got off to a purposeful start in the opening round of the qualifying school final at PGA Golf de Catalunya near Girona.
