John Brennan has been announced as the new Derry senior football manager, succeeding Damian Cassidy who stepped down recently after two years in charge.

The Derry hurling panel have a new manager at the helm for the 2010 season following the ratification of James O'Kane's appointment.

Nominations for the position of Derry senior football manager closed last night and six men are in contention to replace Paddy Crozier, who ended his tenure last month.

Paddy Crozier will manage the Derry senior footballers for the next three seasons after being ratified as Mickey Moran's successor.
