A verdict of accidental death has been returned in the cases of all six victims of the Manx2 plane crash at Cork Airport.

The night before the accident, the aircraft operated a night cargo charter, from Belfast Aldergrove to Edinburgh, to Inverness and back to Aldergrove.

The former ‘virtual airline’ which sold tickets for the flight moved last night to distance itself from the key findings.

The lawyer representing the families of several victims and survivors of the disaster said they want to see its 11 safety recommendations implemented immediately to prevent future similar tragedies.

The Irish Air Accident Investigation Unit has identified a series of poor pilot decisions and a range of serious systemic failures, and has issued 11 safety recommendations following its exhaustive probe into the 2011 Cork Airport plane crash disaster.
