Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas have made an approach to Liverpool for goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.

The 34-year-old Portugal international was a free agent after his contract at Real expired.

Lyon have been charged with "insufficient organisation" of their supporters after crowd disturbances seriously delayed the start of Thursday's 2-1 Europa League victory over Besiktas.

Gomez scored 28 goals in 41 games for Besiktas and won the Turkish league title last season.
