Queen Anne is the latest Cunard cruise ship

There will be quite a sight to behold in Cobh next month when the latest ship from Cunard makes its first arrival in the port town.

Queen Anne will arrive at the historic port on June 5 as part of a celebratory ‘lap of honour’ circumnavigation of the British Isles.

The 14-night British Isles Festival Voyage will depart Southampton on May 24 with maiden calls to Greenock, Belfast, Cobh, and Liverpool and a programme of exciting on board experiences.

It is the 249th ship to fly under the Cunard flag and her arrival in the Co Cork town is expected to attract significant interest.

The Queen Anne is due to arrive early in the morning and is scheduled to depart again that evening.

The final leg of the voyage will see Queen Anne will sail from Cobh to Southampton.

“Queen Anne’s British Isles Festival voyage will celebrate the very best of Great Britain and Ireland where Cobh will forever hold a special place in Cunard history,” says Katie McAlister, President of Cunard reflecting on Cunard’s long association with Cobh.

“Queen Anne’s maiden voyage around these shores will be a truly historic sailing for Cunard.”

The 113,000-ton, 3,000-guest Queen Anne spans 14 decks and will offer travellers several breath-taking experiences, and more choices of entertainment, dining, and bars than ever before.

She will also boast the widest selection of fitness, beauty, thermal and spa facilities so far seen on a Cunard ship, with her reimagined Mareel Wellness and Beauty proposition heralding a new era of wellbeing at sea.

Throughout her maiden season, Queen Anne will sail from Southampton on itineraries to the Mediterranean, Scandinavia, the Canary Islands, and the Norwegian Fjords, visiting over 60 unique destinations in 16 countries – taking in several of Europe’s most enchanting ancient cities.
