High class holiday

JOINING forces once again, South-west France holiday rental specialists The Gascony Secret and Simply Périgord offer a range of striking properties at prices for different pockets, the high range including historically important Chartreuse set in about 180 acres of land.

This property in Mauzens-et-Miremont, the Dordogne is surrounded by formal gardens, woodland, a lake and ruins of an ancient forge. The property features a large private swimming pool and can sleep up to 20 guests, so naturally it doesn’t come cheap at €5,150 per week. But broken down, that works out at just a tad short of €260 a head, not bad considering what’s on offer.

In Gascony, a farmhouse set in five acres of picturesque grounds in a village close to Auvillar, is priced at €900 and breaks down into about €115 per person based on eight sharing. www.simply-perigord.com or www.gascony–secret.com.
