One-parent family hotel deal

THE Clarion Hotel in Sligo realises that not all families are exactly the same, and if you’re a single parent trying to get away with the kids for a few days the costs can soar with usual room rates applying for two people sharing.

The hotel’s new single parent rate ‘One for All’ has been launched and operates right through the summer season to August 31.

The hotel offers a one-stop rate of €69, to allow a single parent stay with up to three children (12 or under) in a standard room (double and single bed) and also enjoy a family buffet breakfast.

- IRISH Ferries is supporting a drive by the Welsh Tourist Board to encourage more Irish motorists to holiday in Wales. Under a joint campaign aimed at promoting special features of a motoring holiday in Wales and the low cost of access, a new special sale fare of €99 for a car plus two passengers on their Rosslare to Pembroke route is being offered.

This heavily discounted fare, which is available until April 20 for travel until May 31, represents a cut of 33% equivalent to a saving of €54. For an extra €10, passengers can sail on the Dublin-Holyhead cruise ferry.
