Into Africa the Sunway

SUNWAY is in the midst of promoting Kenya — with a range of packages designed to suit all tastes.

The Irish company features the four-star Voyager Beach Resort at Nyali Beach, just north of Mombassa, an all-inclusive resort.

Facilities include three pools, three restaurants, three bars, a daily entertainment programme, a children’s adventure club, water sports like scuba diving, windsurfing, sailing, game fishing, glass bottom boat rides and golf at the nearby 18-hole Nyali Golf and Country Club.

Not everything is free on demand, but for about €1,330 (including all taxes and charges) customers will get return flights, transfers, accommodation, all meals and local drinks, free water sports including windsurfing, laser sailing and snorkelling and other free sporting activities.

Sunway offers a four-star safari to the Masai Mara game reserve that includes five nights full board accommodation throughout the safari, one-night bed and breakfast accommodation in Nairobi, park entrance fees throughout, all game drives and sight-seeing with an English speaking guide and transfers. The safari package is, however, only available for those travelling before June 30, and only for groups of six people. It is priced from €1,740 per person including flights. Check out www.sunway.ie for full details.

LEE Travel has long been associated with cruise holidays; this year the company links up with gardening expert Peter Dowdall to promote a nine day Mediterranean Garden Cruise from September 27. Customers will fly to Barcelona and spend two nights in the Spanish city, visiting the Jardi Botanic before boarding the Voyager of the Seas to begin a week-long cruise that takes in Naples, Rome, Pisa, Nice and Marseilles, with a tour of the Princess Grace Rose Gardens in Nice and three private garden presentations by Mr Dowdall during the week.

Prices, based on two sharing, begin at €1,395 and rise to €1,795.

THE Show Time Express is back in operation for the summer. The Dublin-to-Killarney rail break entertainment weekend packages are priced from €149 per person sharing and include transfers from the train to hotel, two nights accommodation in one of four hotels, and tickets to one show of choice as well as other free nightly entertainment. The deal also includes discount shopping vouchers.
