Emma Doran to lead Cork Pride show alongside Mockie Ah! queens

Comedian Emma Doran will lead Cork Pride Show festivities, alongside Mockie Ah! founder Candy Warhol.

Stand-up comedian, podcaster, and author Emma Doran is set to lead Mockie Ah!'s  Cork Pride show celebrations in Cork City this year.

Doran will join the Mockie Ah! queens as special co-host, alongside founder and Irish drag artist Candy Warhol at The Pav on Saturday, August 2.

Mockie Ah!, Ireland's leading drag haus, announced the lineup for this year’s Cork Pride Show on Wednesday.

The tour-de-force of camp, comedy and charisma, Mockie Ah! were named one of the top attractions to see in Ireland by BBC One’s The Travel Show in 2021 and are recognised by Cork City Council for their contribution to arts and culture.

​With over a decade of experience and a dazzling roster of performers, the Cork legends offer drag brunches, glamorous evening cabarets, sizzling club nights and full-scale theatre productions – and the Cork Pride Show is no exception.

Drag artist Kyran Thrax will be perfomring at this year's Cork Pride Show at The Pav.

Fresh from more than 80 sold-out shows across Ireland and acclaimed appearances on Last One Laughing and RTÉ's No Worries If Not, Doran will help host what has been described as Cork's largest Pride party yet.

Speaking about the line-up announcement, Candy Warhol, said: “We are so incredibly proud of this lineup. As an independent show with no sponsorship, we work so hard each year to bring something new and exciting to our hometown's Pride celebrations. This year we are celebrating the launch of Cork Community Pride and celebrating nine years of Mockie Ah!, so it feels very special.” 

Following previous guest appearances from Siobhán McSweeney, I'm Grand Mam's Kevin Twomey and PJ Kirby and Bambie Thug, this year's event is set to be the biggest in Mockie Ah!'s nine-year history.

Also joining the celebrations will be an incredible trio of RuPaul's Drag Race stars: Kyran Thrax, Blu Hydrangea and Paige Three, as well as drag, burlesque and DJ talent, including Mia Gold, Laura Lavelle, Richard Joke, Robyn Diamonds, Magenta Fox and DJ Rosina.

This year's celebration will also honour the launch of Cork Community Pride – a celebration of the LGBTQ+ community in Cork, organised by a grassroots collective of volunteers and taking place over the August Bank Holiday Weekend.
