Social media star Kayleigh Trappe has announced her engagement news in a truly creative way.

Trappe, who is well-known for her lip-sync videos, many of which have gone viral, had comedian Joanne McNally narrate the whole thing.

The video posted by Trappe on Sunday saw her dressed like Joanne, wearing silver hoop earrings and space buns, lip syncing to a phone call in which McNally shares the news of Trappe’s engagement.

Trappe has regularly used soundbites from McNally’s podcast with Vogue Williams, My Therapist Ghosted Me, taking the creative approach to use the audio clip of McNally as her engagement announcement.

“Come here to me. Did you hear the news? Kayleigh Trappe, after getting engaged,” McNally says, as though she’s telling someone the news over the phone.

“You do know her, you know her. The lip lady, you do, you know her. The dancing. Monaghan, you know her, dancing, she does the Zumba on TV,” she continues.

“Yeah, you know her, she does the impressions of me in Vogue. Not very well now, I have to say.”

"Yeah, she's getting married to some lad called Tom. Now she showed me the ring, I can tell you. I looked pretty hard to see it, tiny little thing.

"Yeah, she's not getting into much there now financially. What he's doing for a living it's clearly a passion project.”

During the lip-sync announcement, Trappe pulls out the ring box as McNally continues, “But anyway, now that I think that any woman getting married before 40, it's self-sabotage, but there you go. Another one bites the dust.”

The post has since been flooded with more than a thousand comments of congratulations, with McNally leading the way.

“Very sad news, my condolences,” she joked in the comment section.

Fellow comedic video creator, Tadhg Fleming, commented: “AH STOP. Huge congratulations to ye lads !!”

Among the many other creators to congratulate the newly engaged couple were Miriam Mullins, Aisling Kearns, Louise Cooney, Aimee Connolly, and Nathalie Lennon.
