Influencer Niamh Cullen has announced the death of her husband, Jamie Gill, describing him as “the light of my life” in an emotional post shared online.
Gill, who was 33, had been diagnosed with cancer last year. Cullen posted a video of the couple dancing, saying it reflected the “unconditional love, fun and laughter” they shared.
“The unimaginable has happened. Our worst nightmare,” she wrote on social media.
“My beautiful husband has been taken from us. The light of my life. I was the luckiest to be loved and adored by you Jamie. I love you endlessly, not just now, but eternally.”
Cullen, 32, said she is “broken” by the loss. The couple married in Italy in November 2024.
In a post earlier this month, Cullen explained that her husband became unwell during their “mini-moon” in Rome and was hospitalised for 10 days, where doctors discovered a cancerous tumour.
Gill later underwent 10 rounds of chemotherapy.
She described him as a “fighter” with an “incredible positive outlook and mindset, even in the darkest moments”.
An outpouring of condolences and messages of support have followed the announcement of his death.
A notice on RIP.ie said the family’s “lives will never be the same at the untimely loss of a loving husband, cherished son and a fantastic brother”.
It added that he will be “deeply missed” by his wife, parents, brothers, extended family, friends, neighbours and colleagues at Media Central and Google.
Gill’s funeral mass will take place on Tuesday at 11.30am at St Vincent de Paul Church, Griffith Avenue, Dublin 9.
