Getting ready for close-ups was super-easy when Cork couple Patrick Murphy and Andrea La Chiusa exchanged vows.
Patrick, from Mayfield, and Andrea, originally from Perugia in Italy, live together in Glounthaune, Cork, and were wed in Clos la Plana, Sitges, Barcelona, Spain, in a ceremony led by Noelle Cambridge (Instagram: @celebrant_ceremonies_by_noelle).Â

âOur whole wedding was at Clos la Plana, a stunning villa in the middle of miles of vineyards,â says Patrick.
As Patrick owns Edit Hair Club (Instagram: @Edithairclub) on Corkâs MacCurtain Street, it meant there was no shortage of hairstylists on the big day, says Andrea.

âPatrick himself did the hair of his three sisters and maids of honour on the morning.âÂ
Patrickâs friend and former colleague, Aaron Harrison, created the hairdos for Andreaâs two bridesmaids. Leading Barcelona-based makeup artist Anna Dykalenko (Instagram @topmuabcn) was also on the team.

The couple first met at FLYEfit Gym in Cork in April 2022. âA very typical gay meet-cute,â says Patrick.
A holiday in Thailand on Christmas Day 2023 set the scene for their engagement.Â
âWe had just landed and Patrick had planned to do it as soon as we got to our hotel because he was âup to 90â over it,â says Andrea.Â
âHe got me to stay at the bar while he went up to the room, scattered the rose petals (had to be done) and texted me to come to the room.âÂ
But when Patrick popped the question and Andrea not only said yes, but also surprised Patrick by presenting him with an engagement ring. âHe had the exact same plan! It was very sweet,â says Patrick.

Music was hugely important to the couple who were married in a 6pm ceremony.Â
âOf course, the song you walk down the aisle to is pretty much the pinnacle. We chose 'A Million Dreams' from 'The Greatest Showman' soundtrack. The ceremony ended with 'Love You I Do' from the 'Dreamgirls' soundtrack. The first dance was 'Love is an Open Door' from the 'Frozen' soundtrack. Very cutesy!âÂ
The wedding party consisted of the maids of honour, Noelle, Grace and Sofia, bridesmaids Deborah, Pamela and Lorraine, and groomsman, Alessandro.Â
Andreaâs parents, Stella and Maurizio, and Patrickâs dad, Pat, were also present.Â
âSadly, Patrickâs mom, Eleanor, passed away seven years ago but was still very much in all our thoughts on the day,â says Andrea. âWe also had the best pageboys and flower girls in Fionn, Milo, Clodagh, Ellie, Alex and Bobby.âÂ
The event had âwhiteâ as its theme, and all the guests wore white. âAs we knew the coloured fireworks would be going off at the end of the ceremony, we thought this would add a striking splash of colour,â says Patrick.
Love was the mainstay of the celebration, says Patrick: âEveryone was feeling it. It was beautiful.

Cork drag artists âwere on another levelâ when it came to the after-dinner entertainment, says the groom. âWe flew the amazing Candy Warhol, Leticia LaSynn and Mia Gold over,â says Patrick. âThey literally lifted the whole energy to 100.âÂ
The grooms wore tuxes by Saville Menswear, Oliver Plunkett Street, Cork. âWe felt like VIPs,â says Patrick.

Spanish suppliers, from roaming band Roameo to Barcelona-based La Libélula Films & Productions and Loving The Flowers, were also essential to the success of the occasion.
Any advice when organising your big day overseas? âPick the wedding planner! We had Donna from Donna Weddings (@wedding_donna), and we couldnât have pulled it off without her; sheâs incredible,â says Patrick.
