Two fairytale wedding celebrations were on the cards for Cork couple Megan Reidy and Eric O’Keeffe.
Megan, from Blarney, and Eric, from Killeens, met as teenagers in 2012 through mutual friends.

“We officially started going out on June 2, 2012, the day before we started our Junior Certificate exams,” says Megan.
They got engaged 10 years later, on April 20, 2022, while on a city break in Amsterdam.

Megan, a secondary school teacher, and Eric, a pre-construction engineer, said their “I do’s” for the first time in an intimate ceremony in the Church Of The Immaculate Conception, Blarney, in April this year, followed by a big day on the beach in Portugal in June, with their baby daughter Fiadh O’Keeffe enjoying the limelight on both occasions.
“Our religious ceremony on April 5 was celebrated by Fr Michael Fitzgerald, and we also had Fiadh christened on the same day.

“Eric and I had photos taken on the grounds of Blarney Castle by Tomas from Touch Photography before going to The Kingsley for a meal.”
The Grande Real Santa Eulalia Resort & Hotel Spa in Albufeira, Portugal, was the venue on June 21. “Eric and I had our first holiday together in Albufeira in 2015 after completing the Leaving Cert,” says Megan.

“We had our big day overlooking the beach with 73 of our closest friends and family. We couldn’t have planned it without Dream Day Wedding Planners.”
Megan’s search for her dream gown began in New York in February 2023.

“I went to the famous Kleinfeld Bridal from ‘Say Yes to the Dress’ to try on wedding dresses. I had my mother and my mother-in-law with me for the appointment. It was so much fun, and it looked exactly like it does on TV! There was one dress I considered purchasing from there, but in the end, I decided to wait. The dress I did get was incredibly similar to the one I wanted in New York! I purchased my dress, a Vagabond design, from Memories Bridal Boutique in Cork City in July 2023.
“When I ordered the dress, I had no idea I would be fortunate enough to fall pregnant in 2024 and again, in 2025, before the big day. My amazing seamstress, Kay, did an incredible job and completed all of the alterations within the two weeks prior to my flying to Portugal. It fit me perfectly on the day at 19 weeks pregnant. I changed into a lighter, short dress, an Elliatt design, later that evening.”

The groom and his party’s suits were purchased in Red Church, in Cork City.
Megan’s friend Niamh Carmody was her maid of honour, and Eric had his friend Craig Connolly by his side as his best man.

“We had two flower girls, Eric's niece and goddaughter Darcie and, of course, our daughter Fiadh. We also had a pageboy, my brother, Aodhan,” says the bride.
A content creator, photographer and videographer from Eternity Weddings captured the day’s special moments.

The Guinness Brothers band got the party started, and a saxophone player and DJ kept the dance floor full until the small hours.
Megan's grandmother, Maura Coughlan, put together the bouquets and buttonholes for the wedding day.

Megan, Eric and Fiadh enjoyed a “minimoon” the following week in Portugal.
They plan to honeymoon after the arrival of their second baby, adds Megan, “and go as a family of four. Our focus for now is on completing our house [which is being built in Killeens] and enjoying our first Christmas in the house as a family.”
