My Wedding Day with Shell Holden: We married on Gold Cup day to remember my dad in a fun way

Shell Holden: "As part of the ceremony, we lit remembrance candles for anyone who wasn’t there, and then we did hand fasting. Thirteen of our friends took part in that ceremony; they draped different colours over us."

We got married on March 14 of this year, which was Cheltenham Gold Cup day. Our day was choreographed around that. My dad passed away six years ago, and he was very much my pal. We wanted to make him part of our decision-making for the day.

My dad was a horse-racing fan, and I grew up watching it with him. Every year, Cheltenham was a big thing we would do together.
