My Wedding Day with Glenda Gilson: 'I thought I was going to vomit on the altar'

"About halfway through, I had a little mini panic attack. I thought I was going to get sick, and I felt too hot, but it just passed, and I was fine. For one minute though I thought I was going to vomit on the altar."

We got married on the 29th August 2014. We had our reception in Doonbeg Hotel in Clare. I went to Doonbeg years ago for a charity ball, when I was in my 20s. I’d never heard of Doonbeg but I remember arriving in and it just stopped me in my tracks when I saw it. I said, Jesus, if I get married, this is where I'll go.

And then, of course, I met Rob, and when we were thinking of getting married I said to him, there's a beautiful place called Doonbeg that we should look at. A lot of people are aware of it now of course, but back then Rob hadn’t heard of it either. When he saw it, he loved it too.
