Jake Carter and Karen Byrne are engaged.

There was an extra bit of magic on the Dancing with the Stars set this week as one former celebrity dancer returned to the studio to pop the question. 

Jake Carter, who previously competed on the show with professional dancer turned judge Karen Byrne, surprised his now-fiancee during filming for the show.

The 26-year-old snuck up on her with their dog Lenny while she was having photos taken with the Glitterball trophy the pair lifted together in 2018. 

In a video the country singer shared with his Instagram followers, Byrne, 32, seemed shocked to see her beau and fluffy friend on the dancefloor, and was even moreso when Carter got down on one knee and produced a ring

"Seven years ago, we met on this dancefloor and both of our lives changed forever," he said. "It was the perfect place to come back and ask you Karen, will you marry me?"

"Are you for real?" the Ballyfermot dancer said tearing up.

"Is that a yes?" Carter asked, with Byrne assuring him it was indeed a yes!

The happy couple have been inundated with well wishes from former Dancing with the Stars contestants. 

The couple host a podcast with Carter's famous brother Nathan called The Carter Couch.
