INSPIRATION

Whether you’re a seasoned black run enthusiast or an urban snow bunny, looking piste perfect has never been easier.

The highstreet has proven that function and fashion can co-exist at prices that won’t have you calling mountain rescue at the first glimpse of your credit card bill.

What’s more, the quilting, panelling and padding all comes with a side of gorgeous.

So all that’s left is to order that hot toddy and pose by the re. Let’s be honest, it’s all about the après!

STYLE NOTES

MOVEMENT: Mimic a few manouevres when trying on ski gear to ensure there is plenty of restriction-free movement.

UNDERWEAR: Perfect the art of thin-sulation by using thermal baselayers under midlayer tops and ski silks under salopettes. Top tip? Wear ski silks off-piste under trousers on frosty days.

ACCESSORIES: Look to elasticated cu- s, wrist and ankle straps on jackets and pants; not to mention well-fitted goggles to prevent dangerous fogging and uncomfortable snow seepage.

FOOTWEAR: New to the sport? Save cash by renting ski boots from a reputable out tter. Spend instead on chalet footwear (try Massimo Dutti and Timberland) that’ll provide a decent cost-per-wear beyond your holiday.
