Trend of the week: Grey shades
Looking to throw some shapes this season? Be sure to do it in grey. Impactfully simple, grey’s non-colour status allows for a stronger focus on form and silhouette.
Think of bold skyscrapers against a granite sky – arresting and angular. No fuss or frills – just a simple entreaty to look sharp.
■Try tonal dressing in contrasting grey shades (rumour has it there are 50!) and textures (think felted wool, knits, lurex and cashmere) for a multi-dimensional look.
■Make minimalism your mantra. Look to clean lines with oversized and architectural shapes to balance the hue.
■Easy on the accessories. Follow Balanciaga and Stella McCartney with form-fitting boots. Cap off with earrings from grandma’s dressing up box.
■Not keen on head-to-toe? Break up the block with creative colour combos: oxblood and baby blue, mustard and brilliant white or taupe and khaki.
