Street trend: Marie Barry-Murphy

What are you wearing?

I’m wearing a Savida top from Dunnes Stores (€40); New Look jeans (€56) and heels (€27.99); Monsoon earrings (€7.99) and necklace (€32); an Alex and Ani bracelet (gift) from Barnes Jewellers in Fermoy and a River Island handbag (about €45).

Describe your style in three words?

Chic, colourful, glam.

How long does it take you to get dressed in the morning?

About 10 minutes. As a mom, time is precious in the morning so I lay out everything the night before.

Fashion or function — which word best describes your attitude to clothes and why?

Both. I need clothes to be comfy and stylish but when the kids aren’t in tow, I love getting glamorous.

What’s your biggest source of style inspiration?

I know my style and what suits me so I don’t follow trends but I do love dresses — anything ’50s or Grace Kelly-inspired.

Where do you like to shop?

I love to shop in Vanilla Boutique, Fermoy, Co Cork; Off the Rails, Mitchelstown; Eva May Vintage, Glanmire; charity shops and the high street to mix it all up.

Who or what is Ireland’s greatest undiscovered gem?

Vanilla Boutique, Fermoy — I love their stock and want to buy everything when I visit but unfortunately my bank balance won’t allow it and my hubby would probably divorce me.

Why does your style/outfit work?

It’s stylish, comfy and colourful.
