On the red carpet: Blake Lively, Reese Witherspoon, Miley Syrus, Olivia Wilde

Blake Lively made a welcome return to the red carpet after her pregnancy in this knockout gown by Monique Lhuillier. 

The dress is so beautiful that not even a weird crystal-fish clutch from Judith Leiber can spoil the look.

Reese Witherspoon donned a mirrored mini-dress by London designer David Koma for the American Country Music Awards in Arlington, Texas. This is a very high-fashion choice for an event to which almost every other woman wore something frothy, so kudos to her.

Miley Cyrus chose a fun ensemble from Miu Miu for the 30th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in Cleveland, Ohio. This look is positively demure by her standards and I quite like the conservative-meets-punk clash of colours and textures.

Olivia Wilde’s DSquared2 scarf-print, scarf-detailed dress should probably just have stayed a scarf. The nightgown silhouette looks very comfy but does nothing for the actress. She attended the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of Tumbledown.
