Rita Ora’s retro lashes, luminous skin and bubblegum-pink bob are surprisingly easy to emulate. Rachel Marie Walsh has the scoop on her Manga-inspired look.

Pink hair is a fun and flattering look, especially if light blondes suit your skin-tone. A temporary version of this look takes a lot of hair chalk. L’Oreal Professional Hairchalk in Sweet Sixteen Pink, €13.99 at Darcy’s salon, Paul Street, Cork and allbeauty.com, is relatively easy to apply and remove. Keep in mind that your base colour needs to be very fair for the pink to take on Rita’s pastel hue. The chalk will show up any dryness so is best for well-conditioned locks. Fudge Paint Box in Pink Moon, €10.27 at www.lookfantastic.com , is a semi-permanent option that lasts about 20 washes.

Rita owes her Rich Tea-biscuit complexion to James Read.

The spray-tanner to the stars also offers an overnight face bronzer that doubles as a hydrating treatment and can help you get the look at home. James Read Sleep Mask Tan, €30 at Harvey Nichols Dundrum, leaves skin plumped and glowing.

Makeup artist Kathy Jeung preps Rita’s skin with John Masters Organics Pomegranate Facial Oil, €35.10, but I recommend the same brand’s 100% Argan Oil, €42.25 at www.feelunique.com , for a pure antioxidant boost without the added fragrance.

Sweep on Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, €42.69, with a stippling brush for a uniform, luminous canvas. The formula is super-light, more of a complexion-enhancer than a foundation. Touch up any flaws with a cream-stick cover like MAC Matchmaster Concealer, €22.

Rita’s Barbie-like eyes are a mix of natural browns and deliberately false-look lashes. Use a large shadow brush to wash the warm beige shade from Dior 5 Couleurs Palette in 796 Cuir Cannage, €52, over the eye and blend the central matte-brown powder in well with a tapered brush to emphasise the lid and contour.

Creamy nude pencil like NARS Larger than Life Liner in Rue Bonaparte, €25, was applied to the star’s lower waterline for wide-awake, doll-like eyes. Highlight the brow-bone with a touch of NARS Highlighting Blush in Satellite of Love, €30.

MAC #33 Lashes, €13, are a bunched together, retro set that further enhances the fun-faux look. Plump them up with Laura Mercier Full Blown Volume Suprême Mascara, €27, which should also be applied to the lower lashes.

Rita keeps her brows slim but perfectly formed. Fill in sparse hairs with Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Soft Brown, €14.37 at www.beautybay.com taking care to blend the colour with the spoolie tip

Cargo Cosmetics BeachBlush in Sunset Beach, €22 at beautybay.com, is a medley of luminous pinks and bronzes that imparts a soft colour and lots of shimmer. Swirl a blush-brush over the pan and buff into the apples of the cheeks for Rita’s lit-from-within glow. More natural shades are available for the faux-tan phobic.

Rita’s pout picked up her bubblegum hair colour. Her lips were lined with nude-cream pencil and layered with MAC Cremesheen Lipstick in Pretty Please, €18, a cool pink with a frosted finish.
