INSPIRATION

Although the late 60s and early 70s finds provenance in this season’s trends, its eponymous glamour is less bohemian; more Bauhaus. Sure, there are Pendleton prints, rints, knee high boots and blankets aplenty but the freewheeling spirit of the era is not without the tempers of minimalism. Lanvin’s fringed silk tunics were a testament to restraint; whereas the austerity of Céline’s double-breasted military coats were put at ease with a singular tassel earring. It appears the poetic and provident aren’t mutually exclusive; in fact, they make quite the couple.
