On the red carpet: Rita Ora, Rihanna, Ellie Goulding, Lupita Nyong’o

Rita Ora was sensational on the MTV red carpet in a plunging low cut black gown by Barbara Casasola.

As if the dress wasn’t enough, her blood red lips and striking, side-parted peroxide hair were show-stopping. We love the pocket detailing.

Rihanna has never been afraid to make an entrance and she certainly turned heads at the MTV Movie Awards when she arrived in what was, effectively, a dressing gown. It was couture though, from Ulyana Sergeenko’s Spring 2014 collection.

Ellie Goulding wore a very simple but very striking white dress by Georgio Armani for the same awards. The cut-out detail at the waist gave it a modern edge, while the styling was absolute perfection with simple jewellery, strappy sandals and loose curls.

Lupita Nyong’o continued her red carpet reign at the MTV awards. She pulled off one of Karl Lagerfeld’s chaotic creations — an elegant, fitted cocktail dress with a geometric mix of colours and an attention-grabbing cutout back detail.
