* She’s never afraid to make a statement, and Madonna certainly stood out at the Grammys. Chosen by her eight-year-old son, who joined her at the ceremony, she wore a Ralph Lauren suit. Lesson learned — the red carpet is not the place for child’s play.

* Metallic gowns were a big look at the Grammys — and no one wore the trend better than Taylor Swift. She wore figure-hugging Gucci, describing it as “chain mail“, “bullet proof” and “a suit of armour”. Comfort wasn’t a priority then.

* Katy Perry never plays by the book — and we love her for it. Once day she’s in a skin-tight mini, the next she’s playing princess in a floaty gown. She wore Valentino at the Grammys — and even pulled off the cheesy musical notes.
