Trend of the week: Biker jacket

Get your motor running with a new spin on this perennial classic, says Annmarie O’Connor.

Trend of the week: Biker jacket

INSPIRATION

Last season’s pan-sport luxe craze has distilled into an edgier autumnal motif– the biker jacket. This time round the staple is worn shoulder-slung as if borrowed from the boys and is rendered in everything from butter soft leather to suede and boucle wool. Pair with everything from cosy knits to floral dresses, adding oversized envelope clutches and super high heels for that feminine touch.

STYLE NOTES

Keep it simple with a white t-shirt and love-worn jeans: skinny, boyfriend, baggy or flare. A classic stiletto adds instant glamour.

Pair yours with a cosy knit, maxi dress and ankle boots for urban cool.

Deviate from classic black leather with gentler neutrals like taupe and khaki.

Feeling brave? Layer with a body-hewn leather frock for a take on this season’s ‘goth glam’ trend.
