Beautify yourself in May

Fans of Urban Decay’s sell-out kits will queue for the new Build Your Own Palette, €17. The sturdy six-pan case comes complete with one neutral shade, Walk of Shame, a large mirror and a cruelty-free brush. Each of the brand’s 66 shadow singles, €17 each, have been reformulated and repackaged to easily de-pot. Click your chosen colours into your palette for a custom shade selection. Smart!

At her madgesty’s pleasure

The debut fragrance from Madonna lands at the end of the month and is a floriental fans will want to save for. Heady tuberose, amber and musk feature in Truth or Dare, from €31.81, and this celebrity juice breaks the mould for me. It’s saucy, naughty, slightly churchified — but of course — and is a very wearable nighttime spritz.

Oil be back

Trilogy has just made its classic Rosehip oil even better. Say hello to Rosehip Oil Antioxidant+, €32.95. This power-packed potion contains a skin-kind cocktail of acai berries, cranberry seed oil, oats and a lycopene complex derived from the seeds of tomatoes. Use solo, mix with moisturiser or as a first-step serum.

Light up

We’ve pretty much addressed lines and wrinkles in skincare and now brands are turning their attention to pigmentation, often an issue for Celtic skintypes which can be prone to annoying patchy dark spots. New from No7 is Lift and Luminate Day and Night Serum, €34, another one of the brand’s expertly developed and independently-trialled products. Designed for the 40-plus age group, it helps to fade pigmentation and deliver more even-toned skin.

Pot luck

It might not look like much but this tub from Bourjois is brilliant: 1 Seconde Magic Nail Polish Remover, €6.99, takes all the hassle out of varnish removal. Pop your finger into the tub, wiggle it about a bit and remove. Voila! Clean, moisturised talons.

It’s genius.

Body of evidence

If you’re feeling spendy post-payday then this luxe body lotion, new from Creme de la Mer, will hit the spot. Undoubtedly a treat at €170, the Reparative Body Lotion is silky smooth, quick to absorb and deliciously scented.

Get Cheeky

Update your look from wintry to wonderful with some new cheek colour. Here are three across price-points

Tanfastic

The prettiest bronzer I’ve seen this season, Diorskin Nude Tan Healthy Glow Enhancing Powder, €52, comes complete with cute kabuki and is perfect for imparting an all-over sunkissed glow.

Make the grade

Proving that ombre blushers aren’t just the province of spendier brands like Mac and Estée Lauder, Catrice’s Revoltaire Powder Blush in Colour Bomb is a mere €4.99.

Shine on

Part of Mac’s new Hey Sailor collection is this High-Light Powder in Crew, €28. A soft peachy cream with fine shimmer, apply it to high points of the face to catch the light. Ahoy there!
