What’s in my beauty bag?
Benefit Oxygen Wow Foundation, €35
“I really like this new Benefit foundation. Because I’m pale I often find the lightest foundation colours make me look lacklustre, but this is really illuminating.” Look for it on counter from April.
Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick, €31
“I call this my ‘lipstick husband’! I love these for their colour and the gold packaging is fabulous. I’m not big into doing my eyes either, so it’s all about the lips for me. Other favourites are Morange by Mac and I love Illamasqua’s lipsticks as well.”
Diorshow Mascara, €29.99
“This is my complete fave! I’ve been buying it for two or three years and haven’t moved to another because Diorshow is amazing. I use it with a lash curler and find that it’s really defining, gives great curl and separation to lashes but no clumping, which I hate.”
Topshop Nails in Parma Violet, €8
“I’m not particularly faithful to high-end polishes and in fact I prefer brands like Revlon, Collection 2000 and Urban Outfitters and American Apparel for on-trend colours and neons. I’m mad about pastels and really light shades and Topshop’s Parma Violet is perfect.”
Benefit Triple Performing Emulsion, €29.50
“Love it — this is excellent under foundation and is a really nice, light moisturiser that works and which gives great luminosity.”
Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream, €31
“I always have this on me and use it on lips, for flaky patches on my nose and to soothe dry skin. It’s a total saviour!”
Mac Eyebrows in Fling, €16.50
“I have quite prominent brows so I’ve always been obsessed with maintaining them. This dark blonde pencil is perfect for filling them out and adding a bit of symmetry.”
Favourite beauty item: Lipstick.
Favourite brand: Yves Saint Laurent, I’m such a sucker for the amazing gold packaging, it gets me every time.
Monthly beauty budget: About €150,.
Beauty destination: The Nars boutique on Bleeker St, New York, is amazing, I nearly lost my life eyeing up the lip colours in there as well as the uber-trendy customers. Whenever I visit a branch of Space NK or Sephora I tend to go wild and stock up on lots of beauty essentials.!
Gone, but not forgotten: I loved the Mac Surf Baby Cheek Powder in My Paradise from last summer’s Surf Baby collection, but it’s not available any more because it was limited edition.
Benefit, Dior and Elizabeth Arden at department stores; Mac at BT2 and Brown Thomas stores; Topshop at larger branches; Yves Saint Laurent at department stores.
