Slane will be the busiest city in Ireland when Metallica play on June 8, with an expected 75,000 people attending. A major Garda operation will be place, and MCD event co-ordinator Eamon Fox has advised fans to plan ahead. Here's all you need to know:
Firstly, there is strictly no queuing before gates open at 2pm, though all times are subject to change. The concert is an outdoor event and will take place rain, hail or shine. No readmission is allowed to the show. Under 16s must be accompanied by a parent/ guardian.
There is a strict no food or alcohol policy when entering the concert, so you won't be allowed bring any bottles or liquid containers. However, there will be water drinking points available at various locations.
Gardai will be operating a zero tolerance policy regarding alcohol consumption in public areas, criminal and/or anti-social behaviour. Proof of age will be required to purchase alcohol in the catering and bar facilities within the venue.

*All the above items will be confiscated and will not be returned, and the concert has warned that anyone resisting confiscation of restricted items may be evicted.
Fans are advised:
1. Allow plenty of time to gain entry. Everyone is subject to a search when entering the concert.
2. There will be a strict no alcohol policy on all public and private buses travelling to the concert.
3. Book a ticket for public transportation from Dublin in advance to ensure a seat
5.Wellington boots are advised, and the ISPCC will be selling ponchos on site.
6. ATM facilities are limited on site.
7. Wear bright or luminous clothing if walking in the dark
8. Anyone percieved to be intoxicated will be refused entry, depsite having a valid ticket.
9. Intoxication through alcohol or drugs, antisocial behaviour, crowd surfing or moshing are not acceptable.
Public Transport from Dublin: Book a ticket in advance to ensure a seat on the day.
Dublin Bus: will depart for Slane from Western Way, Dublin 7 every 30 minutes from 11am to 4pm and will return after the concert. Tickets are €40 on ticketmaster but are only available until June 3.
Marathon Coach: will depart from Custom House Quay every 30 minutes from 11am to 4pm and will return after the concert. Tickets are €35 until June 5th and will be €40 thereafter. You can buy them on www.bushiredublin.net /email@example.com
Ulster bus and Translink will run services from Belfast and Northern Ireland. Bus Eireann will run shuttle services from Drogheda and Navan.
All concert goes must return to the relevant pick up location by 21,45 for collection after the show.
Driving: If driving, book a car parking space online and allow plenty of time, check AA roadwatch and plan your route in advance. Allow 20-30 minutes walk from the carparks to the venue. Parking charges will apply. There will be no roadside parking.
