Ed Sheeran and Johnny McDaid take to the stage at Derry wedding

Since Ed Sheeran’s hiatus from the world of showbiz, it’s a happy day any time he’s spotted hanging out with a fellow celeb - but we never expected him to show up at a wedding in Derry.

Of course it’s common knowledge that Ed is good friends with Snow Patrol frontman Johnny McDaid, so when the Derry native’s youngest sister Brid was due to tie the knot, who better to ask to serenade the happy couple on the special day.

Talk about brownie points.

The reception took place at Beech Hill Country House Hotel, who shared this video of their surprise performance.
