Irish YouTubers win top parenting prize at social media awards in NYC

The eighth annual Shorty Awards took place in New York City last night and Irish YouTubers, the SacconeJolys claimed the top prize in the parenting category.

The famous awards highlight the best content across the social media landscape including Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, YouTube, Instagram, Vine and, for the first time, Periscope.

Categories recognized content creators in the areas of sports, journalism, fashion, humor, music etc. and were of course live-streamed on YouTube.

If you’ve been living under a rock for the last few years you might not know who 'The SacconeJolys’ are, but don’t worry here’s a short synopsis.

Jonathan and Anna SacconeJoly began vlogging their daily lives four years ago. Since then, they got engaged, married, acquired six white maltese dogs, had two children (Emilia, 3 and Eduardo, 2) and moved from Cork to London … put it all online for the world to see.

The vloggers now have 391 million views on their YouTube channel and over a million subscribers who they deem their ‘friendliest friends’. Some have even been tuning in since day one (*cough* Bagel Slicin’ *cough*).

Accepting the award Jonathan said: “Well, I felt I was good at making videos and then I found out I’m good at making babies and wondered if there was a way to combine them both”.

Congrats, guys!

Do you watch the SacconeJolys? It’s ok, we're all friends here.
