Sam Smith has split from his boyfriend
Sam Smith and his boyfriend have gone their separate ways.
The 'Stay With Me' hitmaker is seeking solace in his music after separating from model Jonathan Zeizel - who he met on the set of his video for 'Like I Can' - after two months of dating, he revealed on stage on Tuesday.
"This song is very special for me today, as I've actually had to do a very similar thing with someone I've been seeing," he said, introducing his track 'Good Thing', which is about a break-up.
Despite his heartache, Sam is still hopeful of finding love again "soon".
"Hopefully I will find someone soon and when I do I think it will be a bit more difficult to sing songs because I will want to sing happy songs. Right now when I'm on stage I feel like it is good for me, it is like therapy every night,” he said, speaking after the show at Toronoto’s Air Canada Centre.
"The music comforts me."
The 22-year-old singer later took to Twitter to express his heartbreak and thank fans for their support at the "beautiful" show.
