Taylor Swift gifts delighted fan $1,989 to help pay off her student loan

Taylor Swift has done it again, this time surprising super-fan Rebekah with a hand painted floral name painting and $1,989 (€1,692) to help pay off her student loan.

For those of you not up-to-date with #swiftmas, it was Taylor’s way of giving back to her fans this Christmas.

The Shake It Off singer proceeded to treat some of her most loyal supporters by playing Santa and sending them gifts she had bought while travelling the world.

She accompanied each of the gifts with handwritten notes telling them more about the places she had bought them and why she had chosen the recipients, sending her fans into meltdown.

On Monday, it was Rebekah Bortnicker’s turn.

The 25-year-old was reduced to tears as she opened her “SwiftEx” package, which contained $1,989 (€1,692) to help pay off her student loan and a hand painted floral name painting that Taylor handpainted herself.

$1,989? You see what Taylor did there? Clever.

The fan shared the moment that she opened the parcel on Tumblr with the caption: “Taylor, you are the most amazing person. I can’t believe you did this for me, I can’t believe this is my life right now. Thank you, I could say it a million times and it wouldn’t be enough. I love you. (once I can actually comprehend this I’m going to try and write something more meaningful lol).”

The package also contained one of Taylor’s necklaces, a picture of Taylor painting her gift and a handwritten note.

Rebekah has expressed her thanks to the singer on her multiple social media accounts which Taylor replied by sharing the video on her personal Tumblr account with the caption “I love you so much”.
