Sam Smith is planning to be dumped - all in the name of music
Sam Smith is planning to be dumped.
The 'Money on My Mind' hitmaker - who, just yesterday, confirmed he had started dating - is already hoping the relationship ends so he can find inspiration for his new album.
"I’m just going to try to fall in love and make them dump me so I can write another record,” he told MTV News.
"I always thought I would wait [to write new songs], because I’ve got a long time to go before I’m even going to think of releasing, but I’ve already started writing some songs and have some ideas and stuff."
Earlier, the 22-year-old singer revealed that he had started dating Jonathan, an extra in his music video.
"It's very early days. I'm talking very, very, very early days,” he said, speaking of his new man.
"But he's really sweet. I met him on the video for 'Like I Can', he was one of 20 extras."
The 'Stay With Me' hitmaker revealed that the relationship was in its early stages, admitting that the pair hadn't even made it official.
"It's a surreal thing to be talking about because I haven't even confirmed with him that we're officially seeing each other," he explained.
Sam also revealed he had already started work on his second album, which follows his critically-acclaimed debut LP, 'In The Lonely Hour'.
"I've already come up with the title, the concept, the artwork, everything,” he said.
"I'm already recording really rough demos on the road."
