Carey fails to impress fans in Japan

Mariah Carey has been criticised for her vocals following a concert in Japan yesterday.

The 'Hero' hitmaker kicked off her 'Elusive Chanteuse World Tour' in Tokyo last night, but it seems her energetic set didn't go down too well with some fans.

One person, Elle, wrote on Twitter: "It's a wrap for Mariah Carey's singing career. You're a legend. Time to retire.

"She can't sing anymore. At all. What happened?"

However, it wasn't all Mariah's fault as in footage, obtained by TMZ.com, from the gig, the singer, 44, appeared to be having issues with her microphone.

A user, who goes by handle Peaches & Herb, tweeted after seeing the video: "Y'all. Mariah Carey really can't sing anymore. That was hard to listen to.

"I see why Mariah Carey never sings live anymore. That's why."

She added: "Mariah Carey should've bowed out right when her voice was giving out. Save herself the embarrassment.

"I knew it was something wrong with MC though. No artist lip syncs at EVERY show. (sic)."

However, a representative for the stunning star claims they've only received good reviews from people who attended the opening show.

The spokesperson told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "The comments we have heard from the fans have been great!"

Meanwhile, Mariah's blip on stage comes just weeks after she split from her husband Nick Cannon, whom she married in 2008 and has three-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe with.
