Kay Burley is being trolled for a picture she posted after the Paris attacks

It was a dog who, admittedly, did look sad. Probably not for the reasons insinuated though.

Paris and communities worldwide have been mourning those killed in a series of attacks on Friday.

French president Francois Hollande announced three days of mourning, and famous landmarks around the city, such as the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame, are closed.

But there are people back on the streets – paying tribute to the 129 killed, donating blood to the wounded, and trying to make sense of what’s happened. There are also a lot of reporters in the city, and Sky News’ Kay Burley is one of them.

Here’s a picture she posted to Twitter on Sunday.

Admittedly, that is a sad looking dog. She’s not wrong. But when exactly do retrievers look happy?

Maybe Burley really believes that dog knows about the events of the last few days and can sense the anguish coming from people in the city. Maybe it seemed like a good idea, but Burley has been on Twitter long enough to know it couldn’t possibly be.

The best thing to do is probably not take it very seriously, which is what everyone responding to the picture seems to be doing.
